Policies, Terms, & Conditions

  • Cancellation Policy: If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged the full fee.

  • Late Policy: If you are more than 10 minutes late, you will have to reschedule and the full-fee will be charged.

  • No show/late cancellation policy: If you no show (do not show up with no notice) or late cancel 3 times in a year, your dog will no longer be able to be groomed at Lakes Gentle Dog Grooming.

  • Pick-up Policy: If you are more than 10 minutes late for pick-up, a $50 fee will apply. If you designate another person to pick-up, you must let Lakes Gentle Dog Grooming know either through text, voicemail, or email via your contact information on file.

  • Vet records are required: A copy of veterinary records are required to show that your dog is up-to-date on their Rabies, Bordetella, and DHPP. Failure to provide records before the day of the appointment will result in a late cancellation (policy above).

  • Parasites: All dogs must be treated and medicated for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. If your pet shows evidence of internal parasites, the grooming service will end, you will be notified to pick up your dog, and the full fee applies. If your dog has fleas or ticks, product will be used to kill the fleas and ticks. However, ticks will not be extracted. If the amount of ticks are excessive, you will be notified to pick up your dog and veterinary care will be recommended.

  • Health: It is the responsibility of the owner to inform the groomer about any pre-existing health conditions and behavioral issues such as anxiety, aggression, and biting.

  • Grooming cannot take place if: your dog is pregnant/nursing, had vaccinations in the last 48 hours, recent veterinary treatment, and is younger than 12 weeks.

  • Grooming will stop and you will be notified if: the dog becomes a danger to themselves or the groomer. The session will end early and the full fee applies. Some dogs may require a muzzle if displaying behavior such as growling or biting.

  • Medical emergencies: In the event of an emergency, for the safety of your dog, professional veterinary care will be sought and at the owner's expense. The owner will be contacted as soon as possible in the event of a medical emergency.

  • Matting: If your dog has excessive matting, the appointment will either need to be rescheduled or may not be fully completed. Matting poses a health risk to your dog such as cutting off circulation to the skin. Please choose the matting/unmanaged coat appointment type, so the groom can be fully completed in the time frame. The hair will need to be clipped short and skin irritations such as hematomas may occur.

  • Summer cuts: Please note that summer cuts or shaving/trimming a lot of hair from a dog can cause discomfort, where they may itch, rub on the floor, hide, and act strangely. This is common when dogs are acclimating to a drastic change in coat length.

  • Accidents: I acknowledge that there is always a possibility accidents may occur such as nicks and/or cuts especially when using sharp tools and pets unexpectedly move. Safety is prioritized and you will be notified if any accidents occur.

  • Hold Harmless Clause: The owner will not hold the groomer or Lakes Gentle Dog Grooming liable If grooming triggers an existing, pre-existing, or hidden medical condition and for any losses, damages, or claims.
